Solenoid Coils
The solenoid coil, also known as the molded coil, is an electromagnetic component that is made up of a coil-shaped conductive wire. Given such a structure, the coil will generate an electromagnetic field when an electrical current is fed into the solenoid. The magnetic field will then magnetize the ferromagnetic material that is presented around the coil. The solenoid coil is able to convert electrical energy into kinetic energy based on this mechanism.
One of the most common applications of the solenoid is the solenoid valve. The magnetic force applied to the valve plunger causes the axial movement of the plunger inside the coil. This simple linear movement hence leads to various mechanical applications such as flow control, flow rate control, locking mechanism, fluid distribution, etc.
